Who We Are and What We Do The Indiana Orthopaedic Society was founded in 1957 by several Hoosier orthopaedists who saw the need for an organization in which they could share knowledge and experiences, and foster collegiality. IOS works towards this through developing professional and personal networks across the state at our annual meeting and beyond, and through the extensive legislative lobbying performed by our board members both at home in Indiana and in Washington, D.C.
